Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry

This easy Chicken and Broccoli recipe is made with strips of chicken breast and broccoli in a ginger-garlic stir-fry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce (or gluten-free option)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 pound chicken breast (sliced very thinly)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine soy sauce, broth, cornstarch, mirin, sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper in a measuring cup; whisk until dissolved.

  2. Heat half the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high; cook half the chicken about 2-3 minutes per side until cooked through.

  3. Repeat with remaining chicken and oil.

  4. Remove chicken to a plate.

  5. Add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger; cook 30-45 seconds until fragrant.

  6. Add sauce mixture and whisk well.

  7. Add broccoli; simmer 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.

  8. Return chicken to skillet; stir to coat.

  9. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
